Did anyone else used to listen to him on Piccadilly radio in Manchester? I remember listening as a kid to the *Wireless at my grandparents house and then I used to sneak my radio under the duvet every night to listen to him. He was controversial at the time, but actually had a lot of clever, interesting things to say and was very entertaining

How sad. My friends and I would listen to his shows in our teens and talk about them the next day.

I happened to come across an ancient Piccadilly Radio 261 sticker in the back of a drawer yesterday, which reminded me about those days. But hadn't heard the news about his death until seeing this post.

I remember setting my alarm early the morning the station launched so I could hear it from the start.
