Doom scrolling volume up in public

People scrolling playing videos out loud, no earphones so we all have to listen it drives me crazy. I've walked out of shops, stood back, changed seats on the tram but today I was was looking for shoes and a woman sat down volume up playing random videos I snapped and asked her to mute it, she looked really shocked and thank god walked off. I've heard you can get fine in certain countries doing this on public transport and various public places and quite rightly so. Is it just me?

I really wish they would bring in fines! I get this all the time on trains and have often asked them to use headphones. It’s so inconsiderate.

It's not just "the yoof" either...

Middle aged (prob older actually - about 65ish) woman in Costa's playing that god awful AI narrated shit today.

I was very British and just glared at her but she was so mesmerised-hypnotised-drugged by it she barely blinked let alone looked up

Social media used to be a tool that people used and now it's a tool that uses people. I hate it.

Exactly. When waiting for a friend at a hospital appointment I had a bit of a scroll on my phone but no sound but unfortunately there was a woman who was around my age early sixties on her phone with the sound going full blast. Imagine if everyone in the waiting area did this. I actually panic if the sound on my phone starts and can't stop it quick enough.

I called out a teen in A&E on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning for doing this. I asked if they had headphones, if so, wear them, if not, turn it down.

Was pleasantly surprised when she apologised and turned the sound off. We were about 5 hours into a 9 hour wait and I was not in the best mood!
