To have another weekend away?

This year I have booked myself on a short activity holiday - on my own. This is for 5 days.
In addition to this I have a girls weekend coming up. (Big birthday so both of these are to celebrate) DH and the DCs have already agreed to these.

Now I have been given the chance to go on another weekend away with an activity group I being to. All of these trips will be within a few months so is this too much?

DH could have the same amount of time away but he is not likely as he doesn’t have the same opportunities (his activities don’t do nights away and his friends group has dwindled). although he and the kids had a family holiday based around their interests.

DH would never stop me from going but is it unfair that I have 3 solo trips and he has none?

Of course it's not unfair.

Last year I went on 2 solo 5-day trips. DH went on one. As long as one partner isn't being left with an unfair amount of childcare, and the family finances aren't impacted, then separate trips and holidays are fine.

Do it

As long as you've both got about equal down time then it's fine.

Is he supportive of your time away?

Have fun

If you go on 3 trips does this reduce the money or time available for family trips?

As long as the DC are not missing out on a family holiday with both of you I would go.

How old are your DC? If they and your DH are happy for you to go off on another break then do it. But surely it needs to be discussed as a family befire you make any decision and their views taken into account?
