People not understanding the need for personal space 😡

Rant thread alert!

Why do people have no awareness of personal space?! Example-I was in the co-op earlier at the self service checkout and I had a man standing right behind me, so close that I swear his shoes were touching mine. I was flustered and rushed to bag all my stuff up. The annoying thing was there was loads of other free checkouts so why stand directly behind me?!

I asked him are you ok? He said yeah I’m just queuing and I told him there’s loads of free tills over there. I stalked off and now I feel like I’m becoming some impatient, psycho pre-menopausal women!

My tolerance for weirdos is lowering! Help 🤣

He might have tried to rob you

He might have tried to rob you

He looked too dopey for that but you never know! 😱

I step back heavily onto the foot of too-close hoverers.

I step back heavily onto the foot of too-close hoverers.

I’ll try that next time!

Agree! I wonder if people are on their phones and sort of not looking around but just following the closest possible person (too closely)?

I think when men do it they’re getting a little thrill from making you feel uncomfortable… but I’m cynical

I feel like this is something that’s so much worse in recent years, is it a post Covid thing?

I feel like everywhere I go people constantly walk into me, or stand right by me, with absolutely no self awareness whatsoever.

I'm polite up to a point the scenario you describe op would warrant 'do you mind stepping back'
Any resistance to that would be'get the fuck away from me'
Imagine in an angry Aberdonian accent.👍
