He’s basically starving Cuba out and then he will take over it it’s to close to America to have another country take it over
Cuba used to until a few weeks ago get a tanker full of oil from Venezuela each week at for free that basically kept the country running - without it they have nothing
Cuba and Venezuela were very close allies
But apart from the tourist industry cigars and rum they don’t have much to barter with
when Trump got Marudo - he told the new president that they were no longer allowed to send oil to Cuba and if they did he “wouldn’t be happy and would put up the tarrifs so they haven’t sent any oil for weeks
He know that Cuba has strong links to Russia in the past but he also knows that Russia won’t help Cuba as they are at war with the Ukraine
with Venezuela they have unlimited amounts of oil - more than Saudi but they have very limited infrastructure to get it all out They should be one of the richest country’s in the world due to the quality and amount of oil they have
Venezuela were going to do a deal with China to set up the infrastructure to get the oil
Trump doesn’t want china that close to America and having control over all of that oil
so he took Marudo out
although he did initially say that Marudo could go peacefully but Marudo refused So Trump took him
Iran - exports 80 - 90 percent of its oil to china
iran has been trying to get nuclear power for years so I doubt very much it’s about preventing Iran having a nuclear power
more that they send oil to china and Trump doesn’t like that
but he like Putin under estimated what Iran would do he thought drop a few bombs and they would fold
just Like Putin thought would happen in the Ukraine
