Not got the job?

Hi

So I spoke a little while ago to Head of department from another team about how to get a job within their industry area.

She reached out last Thursday saying they have a vacancy, can't fill, would I be interested in applying. I couldn't speak as I was with my team but I said yes

She took annual leave on Friday and I emailed Friday night with my personal email as I'm on annual leave. Sent my CV and said I was interested.

Not heard anything. Am I looking to much into it or should I have heard by now?

Also title is misleading - I expect to be interviewed

Did she ask you to send your CV? Is that the normal process where you work?

It’s not been many working days so I would leave it until Friday before you nudge

What's the issue with sending my CV? Internal jobs Im.not too sure but external is via a portal

Why would you not have just emailed her your personal email and phone advising you would be out of office but are interested in next steps?

It's very unusual to send a CV in an internal setting.

Also, you sent if Friday, so she wouldn't have seen it till Monday, and at lunchtime Tuesday you are wondering why she's not got back to you? That would be outrageously quick if she had... presumably she has actual work to do also not just filling this one role.

Is the job going to be advertised on an internal system? That’s how it works where I work and then you can apply.

You know that hiring manager hiring staff is also actual work, right

Sorry I didn't understand your point initially.

Yes, I do. But I meant that people generally have more than ONE task to do in a day so that the hiring manager probably didn't get around to immediately responding to the OP. Particularly if they were just back from a day off themselves.

I meant give them some time as they are obviously busy
