Norethisterone weirdness

I’ve taken Norethistetone a few times to delay my period mainly when going on holiday. Never had any issues and period has arrived as normal 3-4 days after stopping.

I went away this weekend and took some leftover tablets for 4 days just so I wasn’t on while away. However once I stopped taking it on Saturday I started bleeding pretty much straight away. However it’s not like a normal period, there is noticeable blood when wiping but certainly not as much as a normal period. It doesn’t feel like I’ve properly come on. This hasn’t happened before when I’ve taken it.

Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be the pills or something else? Also having some signs of peri (I’m 40) such as very strong ovulation pains and symptoms.

I was prescribed it to combat heavy periods in my 40’s, I think I’d have rather have battled the bloodbath as I gained weight quite rapidly- had always been tiny. Seemed overnight nothing fitted me 😩 just my warning and nothing to do with your post, I’m sure you’ll be fine just for occasional use but Peri has a weird effect on your regular cycle as it is, it’s no fun being female sometimes!

I have had some other symptoms over the last few months that I thought could be linked to peri. A more normal period has begun today following the northisterone but I feel peri may be imminent too.
