I like a boring AIBU

There are often some quite exciting, emotional, dramatic, controversial AIBU threads arent there.

I really like the boring ones though. Mundanity is hugely underrated.

I feel like Im doing my bit in this respect.

Yes, I quite like an 'AIBU about kitchen tiles' type thread.

There's my unexciting reply 😆

Less likely to be fabricated by someone who plops it and watches from a distance...

I dont even have the imagination to fabricate something interesting.

So why would you unreasonable?

I’m not sure where I stand as my favourite AIBU are the parking and bin threads, some
may say they are boring but they are my bread and butter.

Ooh I dont know though, they sound a bit controversial. Doesnt it all kick off on the bins and parking threads?

I dont read them in case they're a bit too heightening.

First post nails it …;-)

Here's an extremely petty AIBU to ponder over:

It happened two years ago and nobody got ill or died, (as far as I know) but I went to the private clinic up the hill for a blood test in Corsica and the nurse/phlebotonist had very long acrylic nails with patterned nail art on them.

No gloves.

She got the vein first time and sucked out all manner of vials and tubes. Lovely person. Just not what I was expecting.

Redheadedstepchild · 13/03/2026 23:41

It was so not unresonable that I forgot my AIBU? My AIBU was, "Should bloodletting nurses/health care professionals be allowed acrylic nail art as seen circa 2023?

As opposed to nail art from 2024, or 2022 you mean?

Dated and tired nail art?

I sometimes like a toasted cheese sandwich, but only made under the grill, not in one of those toastie making machines…

They were, "Coffin shaped" nails. Which were very 2023 but could be seen to be insensitive, considering the health care setting and exposure to vulnerable individuals.

Yes a sort of analogue toastie rather than anything too technical

I like a fried cheese sandwich, a greasy toastie.

How do you feel about an air fryer toasted cheese?

wanttokickoffbutcant · 14/03/2026 00:43

I have spent far too long tonight doing an diamond art kit that was given. I enjoyed it a lot. I would never have got one for myself but have bought another...

Sounds a bit avant garde. Shocking and outrageous.

Yeah I love the boring ones

My baby looks disapproving etc

NotMeAtAll · 14/03/2026 01:51

I love the CF ones.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 14/03/2026 03:43

If I start a thread, it would be a naval gazing one or a think piece if you will - I would rather down 3 litres of straight alcohol than ask MN for advice on anything remotely personal or show a hint of vulnerability 😖.

Catza · 14/03/2026 07:39

Yes, I still remember the old classic “AIBU to give my children a sandwich for dinner” and, of course, a good old daily “should I call in sick because I am sick” thread.

There’s a new one on fitting a car battery

YelramBob · 14/03/2026 20:34

I love a dull AIBU.

Years ago (and I mean pre covid) a neighbour's electrician's van blocked my car in. I politely asked him to move it and he promptly did. He even apologised with a cheery 'Sorry love!' 😉

Another time, I got chatted up in the pub by a man! Fucking nerve of him 😵🤬

No they shouldn't, since outdated nail art could be seen as reflective of outdated bloodletting technique.
