Blue eyes
Fair hair
Not hairy
Speaks well

Doesn't swear much
Drives considerately
Makes me laugh

KimberleyClark · 13/03/2026 09:42

Physical, don’t really have one except I prefer a lean hard body to bulging muscles. No hair or eye colour preference, it’s how they work together that is attractive.

But must be kind, empathetic, have sense of humour, intellectually curious. And like dogs.

TheBlueKoala · 13/03/2026 09:42

lllsx · 12/03/2026 23:32

Tall
dark eyes
dark hair
handsome
not overly muscly but defined
Provides
has banter but also knows how to wear the trousers

Ha- we share taste I see. My dh is not tall but got the rest. Must say my list has changed since I met him in my early twenties (now 46). Right now it would be:

  • kind with similar values
-not skinny not obese, rather a little overweight than underweight
  • intellectually curious
  • leave me to myself most of the time (hello perimenopause)
kellygoeswest · 13/03/2026 10:00

Tall, nerdy, funny, dark hair (fine, Louis Theroux...)

This reminded me of the nursery rhyme:
The daughter of the farrier
Could find no-one to marry her
Because she said
She would not wed
A man who could not carry her.
😂
For me I'm almost opposite to you op.
Really not a fan of blue eyes (sorry Paul Hollywood)
Deep voice
Big, broad-chested, dark haired (chestnut ideal), warm brown eyes
Please no depression!
Instrument playing not a problem but high IQ more essential
Oh and 6 foot plus. Guess that has something to do with the farrier, carry her stuff at some level.
Oh and NOT TOO SKINNY😫

Edited

The daughter of the farrier knew what she was on about😂

TheChosenTwo · 13/03/2026 10:26

Someone who is loving, fun, practical, can and does cook, good with dealing with spiders, patient, good with kids and someone that puts up with me!
Luckily for dh he ticks almost all the boxes (he’s not great with dealing spiders mostly because he’s got slow reflexes so I tend to have to sort out emergencies myself rather than risk him buffooning about)

UninitendedShark · 13/03/2026 10:29

Men, unfortunately

None of the people who I have ended up in LTRs with have exactly fit my physical or personality checklists so I don’t know how much validity is there in listing my “type”: its honoured more in the breach than in the observance.

I prefer to list my dealbreakers:

People who can’t read a room socially and bang on inappropriately about themselves
Hyper macho types and anyone who thinks they need to “wear the trousers” in the relationship
Antivaxxers and conspiracy theorists
Blokes with strong opinions about what women should look like or how they should conduct themselves in public
Heavy drinkers
Men who are overly fastidious about hygiene. Sorry but I find it a real turnoff
Far right or far left views

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 13/03/2026 10:50

"Seems to be into me".

I'm a bloke, we can't generally afford to be picky!

marchi · 13/03/2026 10:57

bit depressed? Girl time to grow up

Mmmchocolatebuttons · 13/03/2026 11:00

Thick brown wavy hair
Job that involves a uniform
Taller than me
Nice hands
Does everything I say with only a moderate amount of complaining

Tonissister · 13/03/2026 11:02

I have two types, physically.

One is quite short, slim, dark hair, energetic. The other is light brown hair and bear-like build - tall, broad shouldered and chested.

But personality really does matter most to me. I like highly intelligent, slightly quirky men who are very gentle and kind with a dry sense of humour.

And here we all were blathering on about eyes and height. How did we forget that?!

Bear-like. You've nailed the description. Wot she said⬆

Not fat, not lean: bear-like!

Yup we can share one if you like @Tonissister 😂

(Though actually now I think of it I've got one - whom you can't share ...)

mumofoneAloneandwell · 13/03/2026 10:34

Hozier!

Move to Ireland, it’s full of your type.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 13/03/2026 11:14

5'6 to 5'8 (I don't like being towered over)
Skinny
Ginger hair
Brown eyes
Funny
Artistic but not self conscious about it
Wears a suit

I actually know a few of these but as I'm old enough to be their granny it is largely irrelevant.

hottshottt · 13/03/2026 11:16

Physically I’m not bothered as long as they are at least a couple of inches taller than me (I’m 5ft5) and fairly muscular as it’s unattractive when men don’t do regular exercise! They also need to take care of themselves with good hygiene and grooming.

I don’t have a preference for a certain race, skin, hair or eye colour as all can be attractive, but good teeth are a must!

Personality wise warm, kind and interested in the world around them and smart with a good work ethic as being able to provide financially is attractive let’s be honest and this doesn’t mean rich it means being reliable!
Oh and no smokers or big drinkers.

ConflictofInterest · 13/03/2026 11:17

Sort of Robin Williams crossed with Hammer from Gladiators

weareallcats · 13/03/2026 11:25

Just occurred to me that for me to fancy someone outside of my type (rugged, beardy) they would have to be exceptionally good looking (Henry Cavill, David Gandy…), but I have a lower bar for men who meet my favoured look and can find them very hot even if they are not generally considered conventionally attractive (Matt Berry). And to be clear, I would take Matt Berry over Henry Cavill or David Gandy 😁.

Wanderdust · 13/03/2026 11:29

Physically, tall, dark and handsome. My husband and I joke how he doesn't fit the bill - 5' 8 and light brown hair 🤣 Good looking to me but not in a conventional way - there's more to it than looks!

ConstanzeMozart · 13/03/2026 11:32

At least 6' 2"
Broad-shouldered but lightly/athletically built
Fine bone structure, lovely shaped lips
Preferably blond/dirty blond hair
Soft husky voice
Sardonic, dry humour
Beautiful fine-boned hands

It's Paul Bettany Grin
Loved him since A Knight's Tale in 2000.

DISCLAIMER my DP of many years is NOTHING like this.

DramaAlpaca · 13/03/2026 11:44

Tall & broad with big shoulders, rugby player type
Blue eyes
Nice voice and accent
Funny
Clever

My DH has the funny and clever bit, but isn't particularly tall and he's a skinny cyclist. He's put up with me for the best part of 40 years at this stage, so he'll do.

Justpink101 · 13/03/2026 11:50

Tall
Good at DIY
Loves food and can cook
Skilled manual worker
Calm
Not sexist as sexism is a complete turn off
