Sporting event today. New venue, long, thin carpark with an attendant at each end.
I asked where I should park to attendant 1 on gate says down the other end -I parked (park 1).
Attendant 2 says I can’t park there and asks me to move - I get back in and move it near by (park 2).
10 mins later Attendant 2 asks me a favour to move car to allow someone official in my space and that I can go and park back nearer the gate. I say A1 won’t allow this she insists it’s fine and so tell her A2 said so.
I move (park 3) and speak to A1 who says it’s fine.
10 mins later A1 shouts over that she may have to ask me to move again. There is nowhere obvious to go now. She then shouts at me asking if I’m refusing to move. I wasn’t but asked her where I should go and she storms off. I move and am now blocking others in so literally can’t stay and want to leave anyway (park 4). I then left.
In was polite and reasonable throughout, and went as directed each time yet left feeling like the problem.
I appreciate they are all volunteers without any form of comms (phones, walk-in talkies), and neither had full sight of the carpark and the issues each end.
At what stage, if any, did I do the wrong thing ?
YABU - stop causing parking issues
