Sorry im back again posted before
Im browned off after this long drawn out process Im now nearing the end and given my preferred completion date and transferred over my deposit and balance on solicitors deposit and have been waiting since 2pm yesterday for seller to agree to completion date. I know im sounding impatient but I needed a answer by today to get my preferred date due to getting mortgage funds released

Have you exchanged contracts?

Abd80 · 06/03/2026 17:55

I’m in the same boat. The whole process is just so looonngggg……

itsthetea · 06/03/2026 17:55

Not if completion date isn’t agreed

UnhappyHobbit · 06/03/2026 17:58

Is the issue the seller hasn’t agreed to the completion date or that their solicitor hasn’t confirmed it? Fridays are the worst for trying to sort things with solicitors.

The only thing you can do to slightly speed this up is to contact the estate agent and ask them to find out from the sellers if the date is agreeable or not. You haven’t exchanged contracts.

I don't understand these drawn out purchases. We viewed 30 September offered same day negotiated and agreed following day moved in on 12 December. We viewed one property only.

Every single transaction is different. If one of the solicitor is slow or useless the transaction drags on and on. If there are issues with the title or if the enquiries are of a complicated nature, it will go on for months. You’re one of the lucky ones.
