Sudden nappy rash since starting nursery

ds is 2, he turned 2 dec 30 and started at a nursery attached to my sons primary school in jan

he does 8:45-11:45am every day. I don't work so he didn't need to go but It gives me a break for those 3 hours especially as he doesn't really sleep at night

He didn't need to be potty trained to go but i provide nappies wipes and spare clothes

He's been there for 2 months and he keeps getting an awful nappy rash which hes never had before. I provide cream also at the nursery and tell them he has a rash (its also painful for him so he screams when getting changed) but it doesnt really clear up straight away

Realistically he should only need changed once if that as he arrives in a clean nappy so i don't understand

wwyd? Would this concern you?

Are they changing him - are the nappies and cream you provide being used? What do they say about it when you ask them about it?

Are nursery using different baby wipes or nappies to what he was used to ? Can you supply them with what you use at home?
my middle baby had nappy rash so awful I switched fully to cheeky wipes at home which helped immensely. I then never moved back to disposable wipes for him or my next baby.
if you cant get it to clear up completely your GP could prescribe something to help

How is his nappy when you pick him up, is it full?

Are they maybe using different wipes on him?

I had this and eventually changed nursery providers. They were just changing her on a schedule rather than when she needed it and she was being left in a soiled nappy for long periods of time. No issues at all once we changed nurseries.

I would make an appointment with the GP - maybe he has a fungal rash that needs clearing up. I can't see how being at nursery could be causing the rash if he is using his normal nappies and wipes and has a clean nappy on when he arrives.

They say they will use the cream but the only time it looks better is after the weekend so he's been home for 2 days but then by the end of the week it's red raw again

They say they change him but I'm not sure there has been times where his nappy is wet on pick up but not soaking

He's just never really suffered like this before

make a tiny mark with nail varnish or pen (let it dry) on the nappy you send him in wearing and a different colour on the others in his bag. you can see if he’s got the same nappy on at pickup or if it’s one of yours thats been put on him, or another one, and how many are left in your bag.
