What is this fresh hell? Menopause

I woke up at 4am with a huge boil on my labia - it is AGONY. I can't think about anything else, its throbbing and I want to cry!

My mum said "oh yeah, it's menopause" WTF mother?! Why didn't you warn me? (and what good would that possibly have done?)

Is there anything beyond compresses and morphine that can help me?

Fuck menopause, fuck the patriarchy and fuck this fucking boil to hell.

Boils are usually caused by bacteria. Squeezing can push the bacteria deeper into the s skin or spread it to nearby tissue.

Anything lumpy has to be squeezed. It's the law.

It's like scabs. Scabs were designed to be pickable.

Have you discovered Sporner Corner on here? It’s full of delights that are squeezed, poked, picked or surgically removed. I highly recommend it.

I smothered the area in an Eve Lom Rescue Mask I found in the bathroom cupboard last night, got a right shock when I spied my clay encrusted fanny at my 2am wee! Anyway, it did a great job and it has gone down loads. I am now able to sit comfortably!

@faithfultoGeorgeMichael Well that’s a new treatment for fanny boils! I haven’t read that one before. I’m glad that it’s improving and the pain decreasing.

I had one a of those about 7 months ago.
It hurt like hell but went away in a couple of days.

Ive only ever had it happen once before and that was about 30 years ago. That one exploded and it was such a relief!

My advice would be to take paracetamol and drink plenty of water and use a hot compress and hopefully it will go soon.
