Have you ever started a podcast?

I may have gone be going slightly mad in the midst of a house move... currently have two tenancies, two sets of keys, two parking spots... am I coming or going?! So I am giving myself a bit of a break from flipping house move stuff to think about other things entirely... hence my question!

I bought a really nice second-hand Rode microphone from Cex last year with the intention of starting a podcast with a friend. In the meantime she got divorced, met someone new and had a baby... so she's been a bit busy!

I have a different idea for a solo podcast - heck I've even set up an insta, designed the logo, sketched out the first eight episodes... so my question is - have you ever done something similar and how did it turn out? Any pitfalls?

Suffice to say, I'm not planning on this making me a multi-millionaire, it will be more a labour of love, and it's on a topic I am interested in. I work in comms so I am fairly good with the tech side as well as promotions, I am more interested in real life experiences - perils, pitfalls, that kind of thing. But also positive things!

Any advice? To stop me thinking about deep cleans and internet engineer appointments... TIA!

We have. First season was just me, second season was me and my partner. Currently planning the 3rd season which might include friends.
Very very niche area- and honestly the more technical episodes get the most views. We have 2.5k downloads. We dont do any marketing people organically find it.

Thanks for responding - it sounds like a good experience? Hope you continue to go from strength to strength!
