I’m feeling really anxious/nervous/scared. I have no one to talk to so hoping anyone else feeling same we can support each other on here?

How is everyone else feeling?

People that have been through this before can you offer me any advise or support please? DD is my eldest so my first time going through this. I didn’t have this anxiety for primary school as she was in nursery and guaranteed a place at reception so my first time awaiting a result

Why are you so concerned? Is the school not in your catchment? It’s our first time doing this too but I don’t feel scared or anything

BennyHenny · 01/03/2026 19:04

Not sure what advice will help to be honest, you’ll find out tomorrow! Our council
releases the results just after midnight but I know others do it later in the day.

@ToKittyornottoKitty thanks for responding! because the schools that are in our catchment are over subscribed and siblings given priority. That interesting, so most people are not worried as they know their child will get in to first choice? I didn’t realise it’s a high chance of getting first choice. I’m really hoping for first choice

Well unless it was a private primary then you weren't guaranteed and it worked out fine.

Worry tomorrow if there is something to worry about. Otherwise chill and enjoy your evening.

ToKittyornottoKitty · 01/03/2026 19:08

Ours is fairly likely to get first choice, but it’s not a given. We went to view both schools and we no which one we want, but we’ve always known how things stand so if he doesn’t get in then the other place is fine too and he will have friends going to both anyway. Most of his friends are in the same situation so we all seem to have taken a ‘what will be will be’ approach to it as many do at our primary school

Only takes a few seconds to login and check, don’t leave yourself anxiety ridden all day!

ThiagoJones · 01/03/2026 19:11

I live in an area where you are highly unlikely to get anything except the catchment school. One of the reasons mine is going private, as the catchment school is shit! I didn’t even bother applying.
Good luck OP, I hope you get your first choice.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 01/03/2026 19:11

I'd forgotten all about this, somehow thought it was later in the month! We have a good chance of first choice I think.
