Next door new garden lights

Would this annoy you ?
They've been on now since 6.30pm on both sides of the garden and they leave them on for couple hours + each night
It’s like a landing strip in a airport, lights up all the back of the houses
Its pissing me off the guy thinks he can do what he wants and we all out up with it

My neighbour has done similar. It’s awful. Shines straight into my living room. Have asked for them to be turned off by 9pm. Sometimes they do… sometimes they don’t.

Speak to environmental health and ask if its a nuisance and light pollution

Our neighbours’ garden is similar. It’s the birds and other wildlife I feel sorry for.

I hate bright lights in gardens when no one is actually out there using them. It's disoreintating for nocturnal wildlife. I also love astronomy and light pollution makes it so much harder to see the stars.

If they where actually outside with the lights on it wouldn’t bother me but on just for the sake of it would be annoying

I've got neighbours at the back who like to light up their garden in the dark. I find just closing our curtains in our back rooms so I can't see them sorts the problem. I don't even know the people as they live in a different street, so have no idea why they feel the need to do it.

A neighbour of mine has recently had security lights installed. One in particular shines straight onto my door and it's completely dazzling. I'm so pissed off with them. Zero regard for the impact on other people. Agree also with the other comments about light pollution, animals and star gazing.

I would be so annoyed at that, selfish gits. My neighbours have lights, but they're just fairy lights along the fence and they only switch them on if they have people over.

He's probably just a bit of a dick and hasn't thought about the neighbours. I would have a friendly chat and ask him to turn them off when he's not outside.

The utter selfishness of this nonsense. Someone thinks up some more crap to sell, we all buy more plastic crap for the latest fad and then we have this shite inflicted on our neighbours. There's no community. No thought for anyone. Definitely no thought for wildlife. It's so brainless I find it offensive.

Gardens are just outdoor rooms full of plastic crap now.

Everyone wants some sort of insta lifestyle.... outdoor cinemas and hot tubs and all that crap. Fine if you live like a footballer. Not fine if you have a dozen houses backing on to your house.

You have my sympathy. I'm sick of security lights everywhere and ring doorbells lighting up and recording me every time I leave my front door, and noise and endless pointless flipping crap.

He accidentally 😡 knocked our beech hedges down when he decided to knock his garage down, but knocked it our way in the hedges
mind you - he needed the space to make the room for his extension to be build !

Get a bright light (or three or more) that shines in his back windows, angled so you don't suffer. Let the light battle commence.
