Would you go to GP with this?

More a wwyd?
I'm late 50s. On hrt. Recently had weird buzzing in my left foot and strange sensations in both legs. Like blood rushing.
Saw GP about this. They're doing blood tests for vitamin deficiency.
For about a week I've had a strange pulsing in my abdomen lower right. Feels like something moving. Definitely not pg. Dh can feel it. It was intermittent but is happening a lot now. Bowel movements ok. I'm a bit overweight nothing major.
Would you bother the GP or wait and see if it passes?
I just feel like I'm always at the drs.

Also if anyone has experienced it and/or knows what it may be would be helpful.

I had the leg and foot 'buzzing' for ages when I was about 48 and it turned out I had/have hypothyroidism.

A couple of months in to treatment it disappeared.

Not sure about the stomach thing, a pressed nerve maybe?

But I'd get your thyroid checked if you haven't already because I thought it was just poor circulation.

RooseveltFranklinsElementarySchool · 21/02/2026 12:54

I’d go, to be on the safe side.

WeepingAngelInTheTardis · 21/02/2026 12:55

Its normal the tummy thing either anxiety, muscle movement or gas. If your always worrying and going to the GP it can make you more aware of what your body movements are doing.

Rumblebelly · 21/02/2026 13:05

Thanks everyone.

I had well woman checks recently and they checked my thyroid so legs buzzing isn't that.

All my siblings had cancer so I'm probably a bit more paranoid than most?

Am hoping the bowel thing goes soon?

The tummy thing could be a hernia. I’d get it checked.

MissNowt · 21/02/2026 13:12

@Rumblebelly- I think I saw it on House, Mystery Diagnosis or similar about pulsating in the abdomen. It can sometimes be a sign of an aneurysm. I think it’s pretty rare but I’d definitely get it checked to rule that out.

My dad had one of those. I thought I'd get pain if it's that?

Yikes. I don't remember that episode.

Re the pulsing, if it was intermittent but happening more now, I would guess it's not getting better and it less likely to go on it's own.
You could wait till your blood results are back and make a follow up appointment then to discuss both.

But yes I would see someone considering it's not lessening in duration or intensity on its own.

(Not because I think it's something sinister but because it's something and earlier diagnosis is always better than later, even if to hear it's a nerve and will settle.)

Yikes. I don't remember that episode.

The person saw it pulsating when they were lying in the bath. Maybe it was on Diagnosis Unknown? Anyway I very much hope it’s not that @Rumblebelly 🤞

WeAllHaveWings · 21/02/2026 13:46

My foot buzzing which felt like something whooshing through the sole of my right foot (and a few other symptoms such as numbness in feet/big toe, balance, eye droop, sharp shooting pains in ear, scalp, bingo wings, thighs, breasts, groin), were resolved by B12 injections.

If I go too long between injections now the whooshing and shooting pains are the first signs for me. I self inject B12 as GP wasn't interested and told me "we all get niggles as we get older" 🤬

I never had any stomach issues.

user2848502016 · 21/02/2026 13:57

I would go yes, it could be a hernia (or an aneurysm although unlikely!) so best to check it out

Rumblebelly · 21/02/2026 14:37

I can't see it moving just feel it.

I'm getting the blood test on Tuesday so I'll make an appointment if it hasn't gone.

I'll update for future reference as I often search myself for threads before posting. I couldn't find much with this symptom though.

I'm glad you found the cause of the leg issue @WeAllHaveWings .

Did you have the strange bowel movement?

OP posts:
Rumblebelly · 22/02/2026 08:02

It's been pulsing all night. I managed to sleep woke up and still going. I don't know if I should go to the walk in or wait until morning as there isn't pain. Just very worrying.

FasterMichelin · 22/02/2026 08:09

If you’re feeling very concerned, go get it checked out. I would.

Keepingthingsinteresting · 22/02/2026 11:41

I would @Rumblebelly . Like PP the pulsing makes me concerned it is an aneurysm because pulsing suggests it is moving with your heartbeat. Better safe than sorry.

Rumblebelly · 23/02/2026 14:42

I did an econsult this morning and Gp rang at lunch time. He's said I need a blood test for ovaries and infection. And to get seen if it's still the same in a week or so. I'm getting blood tests tomorrow for vitamin deficiency so he's added these on.

OP posts:
Rumblebelly · 02/03/2026 16:23

Tests came back ok. Niggling has disappeared. I've had a virus which I suspect is covid so am wondering if the symptoms I've had have been weird ones related to this?
I've been taking sublingual B12 as that was ok but low end of ok.
