Does anyone know birmingham well? Missing shop!

I've been in birmingham for work today and was looking forward to a browse up the main street, to include a browse in my fave shop window -
I clearly remember an antique jewellery shop being on the main street, not far up on the same side as The Burlington Hotel . I'm sure it was there but now I cannot even find where it used to be!
Anyone know Birmingham well? I feel like I have imagined it. I am definitely NOT talking about the jeweller on corporation street or the one in the arcade. It was DEFINITELY on the main street (facing Muji (now gone) Tesco express etc)
Can anyone shed any light?

Yes. At the bottom where it is dated, click and there is an option for previous years!

I'm fairly sure there was one just outside of the Burlington Arcade.

Agree. I remember one on the corner of Burlington Arcade.

Piccadilly jewellers, on the corner of Piccadilly arcade. It's gone now. I remember longingly looking at beautiful fire opal ring in the window in about 2012!

There was one on the corner of the Arcade. It was closing down in March 2020 just before the lockdown as that was the last time I went to Birmingham for work.

You mean Piccadilly jewellers on new street which has closed down, (very sadly!!) or Rex Johnson which is just up corporation street near HSBC and “the ramp”.

Londontown12 · 17/02/2026 15:41
