You can have up to 5. Money no barrier, but let’s pretend you have the magical ‘enough’ to live the lifestyle you’d want.

(These are in order of me thinking of them rather than preference.)

  1. Vauxhall/South Lambeth. Stayed there for a course last year and loved it, really nice shops and cafes, parks, facilities, and walkable/easy to central london and interesting places. I feel in another life this is a place I could have really enjoyed living. I was tired of London when I left it but it seems much nicer now, 20 years on!
  2. Isle of Mull. Gorgeous beaches, wild weather, quiet…
  3. The 3rd arondissement in Paris, for broadly similar reasons to 1.
  4. Malaga… ditto, but with the beach!
  5. On a narrowboat, near Bath or Hebden Bridge or Melton Mowbray. I love the idea of having a tiny home, cosy with the fire, lots of time outdoors and woodsmoke and big woollen jumpers. Gorgeous! (Yes, I know it probably isn’t like that in reality- or is it!?)

  1. Right now, a cottage in the middle of the countryside with no one for miles. Lovely country kitchen, boot room, wood fire.
  2. Southern Spain, in a gorgeous villa, soaking up the sun.

Any of them, I live in a terrible housing estate, think gangs, kidnappings, murders ect. I'd give anything to move, id go tomorrow.

Needmorelego · 12/02/2026 20:26

If I could I'd move back to my hometown so I can by near family.
Unexciting Midlands town...but it's home.
If money was no issue rather than buying a massive house I would by a small house but I'd learn to drive, buy a campervan and travel all over the country staying at hotels if I need too.

Nimblethimble · 12/02/2026 20:28

Anywhere with some sunshine tbh.

Ineedanewsofa · 12/02/2026 20:34
  1. Where I am (rural midlands) with mortgage paid off and owning the surrounding 10 acres
  2. Beach front house just outside of Newquay
  3. Freehold 3 bedroom apartment in South Kensington with unlimited access to all the museums
OrigamiOwls · 12/02/2026 20:37

Probably somewhere in Alberta Canada

FlowersInPots · 12/02/2026 20:38
  1. Northern Norway. Proper seasons, beautiful scenery, and if I had money, a nice life
  2. Canada (2 different options - Nova Scotia or Calgary) for similar reasons (although politics puts me off)
  3. Scotland - Isle of Harris or Skye.
  4. Prague. Have never been a city person but this is the one I could see myself live in.

I used to live on a narrowboat, and no, it’s not much like that. I loved it though.

1 Methoni, in Greece - my retirement plan before bastard Brexit.
2 Edinburgh. I used to live there and miss it a lot
3 Tynemouth, which is a real possibility for the near future

Mingspingpongball · 12/02/2026 20:48

Anywhere (almost) that isn’t where I currently live!

By choice Bergen (Norway) or Verona or anywhere in Canada

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 12/02/2026 20:53

London- Streatham Hill. Or somewhere near Green Lanes.
Or the house I grew up in, which has an orchard and stables and is beautiful, but way beyond my means now; I live in a council flat.

tvpodcastsmovies · 12/02/2026 21:02

Exactly where I am! Swiss alps. It’s so beautiful, I love it.

letshavetea · 12/02/2026 21:10

I’d stay where I am which is a village in Sussex

Twoshoesnewshoes · 12/02/2026 21:11

A small town about 15 minutes away from my current home
and a house overlooking the sea on the coast near me (south devon)
and a flat in Seville with a patio with an orange tree

that will do really- can I trade the last two for a new campervan?

NeedToKnow101 · 12/02/2026 21:15

Off the top of my head; Palma de Mallorca, The Peak District, Shrewsbury, or somewhere in Florida (never been so not sure where).

dottiedodah · 12/02/2026 21:17
