To be mortified?

I have endometriosis and I've literally bled myself through all my normal day clothes so they're in the wash. I decided to put some loungewear on to wfh today so I've got lounge pants and a wooly pyjama top with animals on. Wearing soft clothing helps with the pain somehow.

I was on a work teams call earlier and moved my laptop into another room to get away from noisy next doors dog barking. I switched off my camera to do this, but upon sitting down in the other room, the camera had switched back on. I'm mortified.

Style it out! You did your work and duties despite being ill. Don’t stress. Your worst day at work, like everyone is still ahead of you.

VintedReturns · 12/02/2026 11:36

I’m not understanding why you’re mortified. You switched the camera off to move rooms, but until that point you had your camera on (?) so presumably whoever was on your call saw your animal PJ top? I’d be far more embarrassed at my colleagues or work contacts seeing me in an animal PJ top than in loungewear bottoms?

Chellybelle · 12/02/2026 11:36

They probably didn't notice and if they did, won't care. I also have endo so I know the struggles but wash your clothes more regularly so you don't run out. Blood stains are harder to get out if they're left in the washing basket for days.

Clefable · 12/02/2026 11:36

What are you mortified about? Wearing lounge pants? It wouldn’t even register with me. I’ve seen people people on Teams calls wearing Oodies etc! They’d already seen the animal print PJ top surely.

Clefable · 12/02/2026 11:37

This does remind me of a time that I changed into my PJs near the end of my shift (I work evenings) and then a colleague called unexpectedly. She was like ‘Ooh I love your top! Where’s it from?’ and I had to admit I was in my pyjamas Grin

Ah be kind to yourself OP.

I work remotely and was presenting on a very serious topic to a senior board, when my arsehole of a cat decided to push my closed office door open (my fault for not checking it clicked) jumped onto my desk and stared into the camera, then when I tried to hastily remove him, he smacked me in the eye. I was also mortified, but people were very kind. Most people are. And it's not like you're sat there everyday in a Pikachu onesie and the hood up.

rainbowunicorn22 · 12/02/2026 11:47

well you are not in your birthday suit! i must admit these days I sometimes struggle to know what is a top and what is lounge wear or night wear.

99pwithaflake · 12/02/2026 11:52

What is it you’re mortified about? Confused

ldnmusic87 · 12/02/2026 11:53

Oh don't be OP, no-one will care x

FuzzyWolf · 12/02/2026 11:55

After working through the pandemic, I don’t think many people raise an eyebrow at the clothes they see on their colleagues when wfh these days.

I work for a massive international company with a roughly €120 billion turnover and still seen the CEO in his pyjamas trousers.

QuickPeachPoet · 12/02/2026 12:33

Relax, it's not like you were naked! I doubt anyone even noticed unless they were intently looking at your screen at the time.

BauhausOfEliott · 12/02/2026 12:58

Oh, nobody will mind. I guarantee you that everyone on the call will have worn pyjamas, lounge wear or ancient comfy clothes to WFH many times before and will not think anything of it.

I've had Teams calls with colleagues who were wearing all sorts of things like that.

FindleBindle · 12/02/2026 13:00

OP, if you saw someone else do this what would you think of them? Would you expect them to be mortified?

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 12/02/2026 13:53

I don’t have endo but had a random ridiculously heavy bleed. The two guys I was in a room with said go home if you want (dress ruined). They dealt with my chair. Love them.

pyjama bottoms are not an issue
