Hit and run?

Any help please? I was driving and then slammed on my breaks as a couple ran into the road, it was rainy and dark…a car came into the back of me I believe, I say I believe as I’m doubting it happened as they didn’t stop but sure I heard the contact of their car and mine as well as feeling it jerk me but the back of the car is fine. I’m feeling some lower back pain but wonder if that’s psychological, I took down their number plate incorrectly so doubt anything will happen apart from my premiums being hiked up.

Has anything similar happened to anyone? What would you do?

Any advice, much appreciated.

Thank you

I had someone run into me with what turned out to be quite a minor bump, but the noise was loud. What sort of car are you driving?

I think whiplash tends to present differently and different areas from how you’ve described. Get some rest and see how you feel tomorrow.

These things are always a worry.

You wouldn’t feel back pain do soon unless you’d had a serious accident.
I’d you didnt get tge reg then you’re stuffed

I've had this happen a couple of times but the other party stopped and admitted liability. I notified the insurance company as there was minor damage one time and the other time just in case something came to light later. Didn't affect my premiums, assuming you have no claims protection?

Your ABS probably kicked in. The car feels like its grinding into the road. If so it did exactly what it should. I doubt the car behind hit you or made any contact from what you've described. See how your back feels in the morning. Other than that there seems to have been no accident. Don't report and forget about it.
