Bad periods post pregnancy - help!

Nearly 13 weeks post pregnancy and had some seriously heavy periods…

first one was after 6 weeks and so bad I went to hospital - had to have an ultrasound. All okay.

then 3 weeks later another so went on the pill…three weeks later, yesterday, another period…never been this often before pregnancy or this heavy.

each one is really heavy…bleeding even on the pill, I’m already anemic so if makes me feel very lightheaded and low.

spoke to the doctor who said I have limited options due to having migraines with aura I can’t have certain pills…

has anyone else had similar and did they find something to reduce the flow? My main
is to reduce the flow. I was told I could try the implant? Did that help anyone?

I don’t want anymore children so I wouldn’t mind something more permanent!

just feeling low, feel like every time I start to feel a bit better the period comes back and it starts all over again and it’s so heavy it scares me

x

You could ask the Dr for tranexamic acid to reduce the flow.

Have they tested your thyroid? Postpartum thyroiditis is pretty common, that can give you heavy periods.

I had very heavy periods for about a year after having both of my children but they settled into something more manageable after then . For reference I would use a super tampon every hour or so for 3 days .

I’m probably about the same it’s just the frequency - it’s every three weeks at the moment…it’s a nightmare!

Mirena IUS can reduce or stop periods
I had no periods for 5 years
safe if you get migraines as it’s progesterone only
