Do you play the lottery?

Inspired by another thread. Do you play the National lottery? Or any other lottery?

If yes, what are your limits / boundaries?

Guess no one does 😂

I have a direct debit for the main draws and occasionally stick a tenner on for instant win online - dont play scratch cards from the shops - dont really win anything either but i can dream. I dont need to set limits because I am not addicted to it in any way.

I play one line of EuroMillions on both days each week. On a "just in case" basis.

Someone's going to win, and it might as well be me as anyone else. If the jackpot goes over £100m, I'll buy two or three lucky dips.

I also run the office Syndicate. There are 17 of us and we play 6 lines on both draws.

Our agreement says that if we win enough for each player to receive £20 or more, it is shared immediately. Otherwise it is saved and shared out in the second week of December.

We've shared in the second week of December every year 😂. Usually between £10 and £15 each. Not a great return on our investment, but there's always a chance of dropping on the big jackpots, right?

Yes, just one ticket a week, lucky dip we pay by DD monthly! Not sure why we bother, just habit I suppose!

Once a week, usually do 4 weeks of Saturday then 4 of Wednesday and alternate. I won £30 in December so that is currently paying for my weekly ticket.
I only ever do a lucky dip. Never anything else.

Yes. Win small amounts occasionally. I won £300 last year which was lovely but the most I’ve ever won

Interesting, the OP in the post got slated for having a direct debit to the lottery. I didn’t think it was that unusual. Appreciate she was trying to buy a house.

I suspect a one / two lines on each draw per week, it’s easily £40 a month I would guess. Is it £2 per draw now?

I play the Lotto, both Wednesday and Saturday. It’s only been a couple of months since we started doing it regularly again and so far we’ve had one win of a lucky dip.

We also take part in our local pub’s bonus ball draw, it’s £1 per number per week and we have two numbers so we pay £2 a week. We’ve done that since maybe around the middle of last year and we’ve won it twice. £59 when you win so we’ve done ok there.

And I also take part in Pick My Postcode (formerly known as the Free Postcode Lottery). I’ve played that one for years. It’s free to play, just takes a couple of minutes a day and I’ve won 3 times. One £5 prize and two £10 prizes but you also build up a bonus on the site so I won the bonus on top of each £10 win as well. Think the last one was around £70 in total I got. I used to play a lot of free lottery sites but quite a few of them stopped and then I just didn’t really have the time to go through them all. I did have a few small wins here and there though.
