What’s this in my DCs mouth

He’s suddenly developed a flap of skin over his back tooth and it’s causing him quite a lot of discomfort. Any ideas?

Can't see a photo but my 7 year old has recently grown a back tooth in and the flap of gum on top of it took a while to receed. Could it be that?

Possibly. He’s 14 if that makes a difference?
