Replacing Mounjaro with Wegovy

Has anyone replaced Mounjaro with Wegovy & managed to keep the weight off?

&

may I also ask if anyone has managed to keep the weight off after stopping Mounjaro? Obviously calories deficit plays a part but without a gym what else??? TIA.

I have 2 friends ( women ) who have swapped to wegovy , due to cost, neither though it was as effective so both swapped back . No personal experience though

I switched when the prices went up. I had a gain of 8lb during the switch. It didn't start kicking in until 1.7mg and now I am on 2.4mg I am losing 2lb a week which is more than I ever lost on MJ and I got right up to 15mg.

I have 11lb to go now to get to my goal weight.

I haven't found it easy on either jab though I have had to calorie count and exercise. The side effects on Wegovy are less though I haven't had the reflux, higher heart rate and sleep issues I had on Mounjaro.

I switched when the prices went up. I was already at target so only use for maintenance. I was on 10mg mounjaro and now on 1mg wegovy and I am maintaining but I do have to work at it with exercise and keeping half an eye on my calories.

Can't answer your second question as I'll stay on it for life if I have to

I lost 7st and ended on 15mg mounjaro after 14 months. I swapped to wegovy 2.4mg in November so have done 3 months and gained 10lb, I wasnt at target and wanted to lose another 20lb so now another 30lb. I don't find it anywhere near as good. I saw someone on SM once describe mounjaro as having 2 friends 1 telling you that you aren't hungry and 1 telling you that you don't want to eat junk. Wegovy you only have 1 friend telling you that you are full.

Personally on wegovy I didnt get my full feeling until hours after a meal and found it much easier to overeat. I also found I had to use all my willpower as I wanted to eat all the junk food again.

I've restarted Mounjaro at 2.5mg and I'm hoping to get to 5mg and just stay there. I found it really hard as I thought 18months in that my new good habits would stick but I have really struggled, however it has helped my know that I wouldn't drop my weight too low BMI 27/28 would be perfect for me

I swapped from MJ to Wegovy (because of cost) and put weight on!! Only a bit but worse than that was constipation and feeling down (think they were related?) I swapped back to Mounjaro as soon as I could and feel much better. Weight stable for a bit then very gradually dropping again. I'd say don't bother it's a false economy.

This was my experience, unfortunately. The money saved on the injections was lost on the additional food I bought...

So far found it the same or better than Mounjaro but I had a 6 month gap in between where I was on neither and managed to maintain so it might be that I'd already developed better habits when I started Wegovy 🤷🏻‍♀️

Stopped because it got expensive. BMI was still teetering on 30 though so when I saw how cheap Wegovy was I thought I'd give it a try.

I switched to Wegovy when Mj price went up. I was on 15mg Mj and had lost 4 stone.
Was on Wegovy for 2 months and just maintained, didn't lose anything. Came off it completely and maintained for 2 more weeks despite feeling hungry constantly! Then put on 9lbs over Xmas.
I went back on Mj 3 weeks ago at 5mg and have lost 4lbs. Going up to 7.5mg next week as 5mg is already not feeling very effective.

I switched when the price of Mounjaro shot up in August. The food noise came back and I started putting weight back on so I went back onto MJ after that pen.

What were the side effects people had with Wegovy? I've had a terrible headache a couple of times, but not sure if it's related to the medication. I have also felt low, again I'm not sure if there's a relationship though.

I took a 6 week break from mounjaro to travel and managed to maintain. Went back onto wegovy after that and have continued loosing 1-2lb a week since then. I’ve found it just as effective but the side effects much worse. Probably won’t buy another pen after this one.
