I mean seriously, what on earth were the Australian Mint thinking of with this hideous so called likeness of our wonderful late monarch? Surely the centenary of Queen Elizabeth II deserved a better celebration than this god awful effort?

I was expecting this to be a Mrs Brown's Boys commemorative coin.

It's still a shocker though!

So now we know the Australian mint is headed by someone who wants their country to be a republic.

I think the Mrs Brown analogy is unfair, as the coin does have value and a purpose.

That’s the point though, it does look more like Mrs Brown than the Queen 👸

Good grief! I think I’d have sent that one back to the drawing board.

The original drawing was probably ok. If you zoom into the image of the coin, there's additional details there which actually looks much better.

By the time it's been refined down to a small scale, had moulds made out of it (almost certainly computerised and using lasers to refine the detail) and then actually had coins minted out of it, this detail is lost and you end up with something which does not look like the original...!

I thought it was a tribute to Smashy and Nicey

I like the laser eyes. I think the portrayal of our late monarch as a killer android is quite fun.

The image depicted does like the Queen, a slightly peed off/quizzical Queen

Commemorating the fact that she tried to pay off Virginia Guiffre (with £12 million) I expect. She's squinting at the thought of writing the cheque.
