Where can I buy old school Cherryade?

I have a hankering… I was looking through old family photos and found one of me and by brother having a meal each with a little bottle of cherryade.

It must be 25 years since I’ve had some and I really really fancied some. I have been EVERYWHERE and all I can find is ‘low fat’ or ‘cherryade zero’ in super markets.

While I am happy with diet day to day, I really want to try and satisfy my quenching thirst for old school cherryade. Think Cresta and the like

Does anyone know where I can find something ‘authentic’?

I think Iceland and B&M do them? I might be going back a bit though...

GCSEBiostruggles · 05/02/2026 20:06

I just googled and apparently they stopped selling them in 2011...Looking back it probably was that long ago! Sorry. Perhaps there is a soda stream dupe? It seems they were worried about the sugar content and additives so maybe it isn't legal to sell now.

MopAndBucketLady · 05/02/2026 20:09

BARR brand do it. Cans , the range , home bargains etc all sell it
Also lots of corner shops. Nisa/ Londis etc often have a range of panda pop style drinks

Sminty2 · 05/02/2026 20:13

Amazon have Barr cherryade and other brands too, including Lucozade cherryade (fun to say)

RudolphRNR · 05/02/2026 20:16

I haven’t seen proper cherryade for a long time but I sometimes buy myself cherry 7up. It definitely has the good cherry flavour and the fizz so it satisfies the craving for me.

I think getting one without sweetener will be hard. Because it's a cheap type of drink so even pre sugar tax, manufactures went that way.

CasperGutman · 05/02/2026 20:19

This is Mumsnet, so – Ocado?

Ah. No. Sorry. You wanted Classic Full Sugar cherryade. Barr's is all sweeteners now, like most soft drinks since the sugar tax.

Barr drinks have sweeteners in 😢

You're right. I've edited my post.

Fish and chip shops are good for obscure soft drinks.

CarefullyCuratedFurniture · 05/02/2026 20:31

Try a Polish / Eastern European supermarket. The drinks in there are proper, full-sugar versions, in all sorts of weird and wonderful flavours.

Sherunswithwolves · 05/02/2026 20:40

Lucozade Cherryade tastes like the good stuff 😊

AtomicBlondeRose · 05/02/2026 20:42

You won’t find a full sugar classic cherryade anywhere. I mix Polish sour cherry cordial (in Aldi sometimes, or Polish shops) with fizzy water, which is nice and has no sweetners.

The blackcurrant cordial from the EE shop is the closest thing to old-school Ribena i can find.

TTCbabynumber22025 · 05/02/2026 20:52

Probably nowhere because they’ve ruined all fizzy drinks now with artificial sweeteners 😭

TomatoSandwiches · 05/02/2026 20:56

There is literally nothing that matches what your memory holds, I've been looking for it for probably a decade now, still buy anything new cherry flavour advertised, always disappointed.

Attictroll · 05/02/2026 21:18

Sainsburys own brand cherry aid in a massive bottle is about 80p and glorious co-op has one which tastes less artificial which doesn’t quite give me my childhood vibe

RudolphTheReindeer · 05/02/2026 21:42

I had Asda cherryade at Christmas which I thought was lovely and a proper blast from the past.

ShortberryStrawcake · 05/02/2026 21:46

I've been looking for cream soda for nostalgia purposes and that's been ruined by sweeteners too 😔
