Disney mini books price

Just seen an advert for Disney mini books on ITV.
100 issues first one 99p then £5.99 each that’s £594.00.
My kids are in their 20s so will not be pestering me for these,
I just feel so sad for parents being subjected to this it’s absolutely ridiculous.

This is nothing new...

They had this sort of crap when we were growing up in the 80s and 90s...

They'd have like a model car or something, first issue 99p and £5.99 a month after etc to get all the parts to build the model over 18months or whatever.

You just have to say no.

I had the Dinosaur magazine part work in the 90s. I built the T-rex and kept it for years!

These magazines are always like that

No one is forced to buy them, if people aren't buying them then the series gets cancelled, very few people buy the whole set

You just buy the cheap first one and leave it at that

These kind of things have been going on for years! I remember bugging my mum about them 30+ years ago. Magazines in general are expensive. DD1 gets the Pokemon and Minecraft ones every month and that’s about £14!

I remember similar from when I was a kid in the 90s/2000s. But worse because those were usually building some kind of model so you were either committed to buying the whole set or your money was wasted.
