Wutheringheights2020 · 03/02/2026 20:46

Hi, I've ben fibed by Parkingeye, apoealed it, they've declined, but did not include my Verification code, nor expksined my right yo apoeal to POPLA.
Without Verification code POPLA will not accept Appeal.
There us no custoner service numver, only Watssup (still waiting to be connecter to the next available staff since last Thursday), submitred message on fgeir online form twice in the past week.
Iranf ggem up to make a payment of £60, but it's requesting £120 now.
I am planning to complsin to Finzncisl ombudsmen.
Has anyone had sane experince with Parkingeye?

If you want to complain to the ombudsman you'll need to submit a formal complaint to the company first for them to give you a final viewpoint letter, but I highly doubt the ombudsman will get into a dispute of appealing or advise ParkingEye that you are correct and they should drop the fine.. they don't get into disputes and spats, this isn't really a complaint but an appeal of the fine itself. Why did you get the fine?

disappearingfish · 03/02/2026 20:52

There’s typos and there’s “drunk spider tangoes across keyboard” typos…

shellyleppard · 03/02/2026 20:55

@disappearingfish 🤣🤣🤣 could be a cat walking across the keyboard.....🤣🤣🤣

What did you do OP ? Did you overstay ?

shellyleppard · 03/02/2026 20:59

@dawnc27 any cat lol. ....my one always tries to sit on the keyboard if I'm working

Createausername1970 · 03/02/2026 21:08

They aren't fraudsters to be fair. Theiving bastards, maybe.

If you stick to the rules of the car park and pay the correct fee, you won't be fined. But if you clearly contravene those rules and are issued with a fine it is very unlikely you will win an appeal.

What did you do and what were your reasons for appeal?

seanconneryseyebrow · 04/02/2026 17:27

i was told only ever pay parking fines if they are from the council. Otherwise they are toothless and just ignore. Don’t know how true that is

PerksOfNotBeingAWallflower · 04/02/2026 17:31

What are your grounds to dispute the fine as without that information no one can advise you.

I would suggest that you spell check anything you want to send to them first.

You're wrong. Parking eye tried to fine me for going to a supermarket twice in one day, saying I'd stayed there all day.

I had to provide the car tracker logs to prove i hadn't.

SENDChaos · 01/03/2026 01:11

Parking eye does not issue tickets, they issue invoices which are not legally enforced

PollyBell · 01/03/2026 01:16

How is it fraud?

Firefly1987 · 01/03/2026 01:18

I thought the government cracked down on private car parking companies? Get onto the moneysaving expert they have all the info you need. It's the place I used to fight my mum's parking charge (not private eye but similar) and she'd already admitted to being the driver 🙄don't do that!

A lot of work for me and POPLA rejected it but my mum never had to pay it in the end.

OP has already acknowledged this invoice by appealing it

Firefly1987 · 01/03/2026 01:29

@SENDChaos can't you appeal it without naming the driver?

You don’t need to even appeal it! Unless issued by council/polive, government bodies. It’s not a ticket. It’s an invoice

Firefly1987 · 01/03/2026 01:37

@SENDChaos true but doesn't that mean ignoring debt collection letters for months/years? All scare tactics ofc but some people would find it all intimidating. Appealing to POPLA can get the whole thing dropped fairy quick. It's a lot harder if you've already named the driver though from what I remember.

They will of course, most probably pass to a debt collector now they have acknowledged it.

who may I add, have no legal enforcement rights but will bully you into think they do

And tbh I can’t make any sense of OP as to WHY they got the ticket lol
