I requested my usual medication via my GP, all went through fine. Due to work I ended up having to beg my shift manager to possibly close slightly earlier so I'd be able to pick up my medication.
For context I had popped in earlier prior to work. I was given what was left over fom my previous prescription but not any of the meds I had requested on this prescription. I was told it wasn't ready and to come back later on (as they were open till 9pm-i recall said I'd reubbur was working till 8:30pm and they don't open on a weekend til late afternoon)
I got there and said tos the pharmacist I had been in earlier but my prescription wasn't ready yet and been told to come back later. He the told me, that my prescription wasn't there. I confirmed in my doctors app that it had been requested and it said it was still at the pharmacy. He for whatever reason didn't believe me.
I described the female employee who had served me earlier, he actually called he and she said she didn't remember. Then I realised I had obviously picked up some of my last owed prescription so I asked him could he check on the system to confirm I had picked that up. I assumed that would confirm the time/fact I was there. Apparently not! Which I admit was somewhat concerning as I had assumed that there was some kind of record of people collecting their prescriptions?!
I do admit one of the medications was a painkiller, naproxen, but as I explained to the pharmacist my biggest concern was the fact I'd run out of my anti depressant (Venaflaxine which has very very unpleasant side effects if I miss a dose-think of the film trainspotting 🫠)
And then amazingly he was able to sort the prescription. I think in fairness I had gone obviously just before closing and quite obviously they hadn't had time to sort said prescription which would have been understandable bad he said that, it was more just the way he implied that I was lying about having already had my prescription (which to me makes no sense why on earth I would I go back if I already had my medication?!!). I think I'm also shocked that they have no record of people picking up prescriptions!
In the future I feel I may have to go to the extent of taking a time stamped/dated photo to prove I was was there but this feels somewhat excessive!
Any advice on how to deal with this if it happens again?!
