Would anyone know what this 80s sci-fi documentary was?

A bit of a long shot, but when I was a kid I remember watching a sci fi programme. This would have been late 80s/very early 90s.

The show was full of clips of things like superman movies, Dr Who. So a bit like a documentary or a ‘best sci-fi films’.

One of the clips was of a man being outside and fighting with a giant tree/plant, I remember it as it scared the life out of me.

I don’t think that it was little shop of horrors.

Has anyone got any ideas on what the documentary could have been or what show the clip was from?

Day Of The Triffids, perhaps?

The clip might have been from Day of the Triffids,, there was a BBC series in 1981. No idea what the show would be though.

Definitely sounds like Day Of The Triffids.

It could also be Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, or the infamously bad movie From Hell It Came.

It could be Day of the Triffids as I do seem to remember the plant being orangey looking. I’ll have to watch it to see if I can find the scene.

If my memory is correct they were outside in the daytime and this giant plant was attacking a man who was whacking it.

It was Day of the Triffids. The scene where the man attacks the Triffids with the garden fork.

Has anyone got any clue what the programme that showed the clip might have been? I’d love to find it and watch.

It was late 80s/early 90s with clips from sci-fi moves and programmes featuring clips from superman, maybe ET, doctor who.
