Hi all- we’re buying a new build and have got a mortgage offer with HSBC, the build will take 5 months longer than we thought and the offer will expire!
We will be exchanging contracts shortly on the new build using the offer and obviously we are nervous about the original offer expiring! Although we were luckily approved quickly the first time, has anyone had to do similar before? broker says it happens a lot?

Anyone have any advice! Stressful! But can’t be helped…
AIBU to worry? No sign of anything changing circumstance wise and DH thinks it’s a non issue! Thanks

I am in the same situation. You can extend it once. I did it back in summer and the bank extended the offer for another six months. I was not required to submit any additional paperwork. My broker handled everything in less than 24h

Unfortunately, that six months is now coming to an end and the house is still not ready but that's another story...

Thank you- yeah it seems to vary so much from lender to lender as well! Oh no hope all goes ok!!

The lender will extend the offer, don't stress about it.
We reserved a new build home in 2020, then the 1st covid lockdown happened and everything was delayed. Our offer was extended 6 months with no issues. We just had to confirm our circumstances hadn't changed due to covid
