AIBU? I’m fed up with my friends constant texts, and video calls it’s mainly in the evening but could be at any point of the day even when we are both at work which I don’t reply to or answer.

it’s not even important or a quick chat it’s just crap, like sending photographs of people who we hung round with or just talking about the past which I’m not interested in.

She’s a great person and like me she has children, maybe it’s boredom?
If I say anything she will probably be upset and that would be the end of the friendship as that’s how she gets with people.
how can I overcome this without offending her?

Just don't answer the calls? Leave her on read for a bit and reply when you're ready or say sorry zoned out? If she's that sensitive she's too much hard work anyway.
I'd also suspect that she's drunk and sending crap on an evening.

I think she's just being friendly and you're being weird. (I hate video calls and don't answer them but I appreciate people caring about me enough to send me messages)

Mute her and reply as and when you are ready - e.g. once every day or two. It is not your job to entertain her. If she complains tell her you realise you spend far too long on your phone and have resolved to only look at messages and notifications once a day.

I have a friend like this, she’s extroverted and I’m introverted. Rings me all the time, at times she knows I’m at work or getting the kids ready in the morning. I just ignore until I have the availability to ring back. It never causes a problem. She’s tells me allsorts of boring things but I know this is her, I’ll tell her I need to go when I do, we’ve never fallen out working this way.

That’s great advice, thank you
