To not enjoy parenting sometimes?

Single parent. 3 kids, 2 with SEN. Work fulltime. Ex shares custody, so I do get a break, which I’m very grateful for, but when I have the kids it’s relentless. I love them but I’m sad and feel like I’m not doing a good enough job. AIBU to feel this way?

I’m sorry you feel this way too but it does help to feel less alone.

I'm another SEN mum, my son is 32 now. I bet you're doing an amazing job but it's SO hard and of course it's ok to say you don't enjoy parenting sometimes! You wouldn't be human if you didn't feel like that. I've got 4 other neurotypical kids and I didn't enjoy every second of parenting them either. Give yourself a break mamma, life is full of ups and downs and we can't be happy all the time! What helped me was having friends who I could say all the ugly thoughts to and they didn't judge. I don't know any mother who hasn't wanted to get in the car and just drive away sometimes!
