Feeling desperate… virus for this long??

I’ve felt unwell since the start of Novemeber. Started with a cough and loss of smell and taste, which I’ve only recently in the last week got back. I’m still coughing like a smoker’s cough! Lots of stuff coming up, usual yellow colour nothing alarming but lots of it.

Since November I’ve had fleeting days where I’ve felt better only to feel worse again a day or so later. This has now happened again. On Friday I really thought that’s the end of this and now today I’ve felt awful again, head banging, sinuses blocked again. It’s just so shit.

in December I was given antibiotics but again no change.

I feel different to how I felt at the start of this but no better. Oh and I also had the runs (sorry tmi) at the start of Jan, even had stool sample tested and came back fine.

I am so miserable and fed up with it. Just wondering if anyone has experienced similar and when the hell does it end? It’s been nearly three months now

I've had almost continuous tonsillitis since November... But I have a toddler and come into contact with lots of people at work.

Whooping cough and Mycoplasma pneumoniae can both cause long lasting coughs; you might also have been unlucky with viruses. My partner had flu before Christmas, he felt awful for over a fortnight.

I was the same from the beginning of October until just after Christmas, and my sinuses still feel blocked up, although I can finally breath through my nose again. It has taken so long to start feeling vaguely normal, I was worried that I was going to be stuck feeling like that forever!

I had Covid (+ test) and then flu a few weeks later. I don’t know which bug was the cause or if it was a combination of them both but it went on FOREVER!
