To warn parents about shock image circulating on snapchat

I never thought I would be posting this in 2026, but there's an image in my local area that's being sent to girls by the boys, it's best if you consult urban dictionary on it as I don't want to describe it, but the name of it is tubgirl and it was very big in the early 2000s, I remember being shown it at uni.

My dd is 15 and came over to me, looking really shocked, and showed me what she had been sent. Apparently this is some tiktok thing now and boys have been sending it to other girls in their 'friend groups'.

I've emailed the kid's school about it but they said as it was sent outside school hours to DD who goes to another school, there is nothing I can do about it except report to snapchat and maybe the police.

Just warning everyone who's daughters are on snapchat

Are you by any chance in manchester? I googled it and it matches the description of what got sent to my dd a few days ago Sad

Really worried about the new generation of men and boys honestly...

Nope, I'm in birmingham

I thought it was just a local thing! Have you reported it?

I didn't, the police here are useless so it would be no point

uniquecyan · 15/01/2026 02:24

I have no idea what else I can even do at this point

I wonder if there's any point in reporting it to our police

I always suggest writing to your MP as well as reporting to the police. I think a lot of people forget that our MPs are there to represent us and this is the sort of thing they need to know about.

Police can't help unless you report it.

Our local Police investigated the whole school and ran an education session too.
