Looks like I have inadvertently discovered a cure for my insomnia - start contributing to a thread where others can't sleep either!

There's a nice big piece of flapjack here for you though @JanuaryJasmine , home-made so calories don't count, obviously.

I hope you (and indeed everyone else here) managed to drift off to sleep eventually. We're retired now but I well remember that feeling of watching the clock going round and getting more and more anxious about not being able to sleep because my alarm clock would be going off at a certain time.

I hope you were able to at least park the thoughts of whatever is worrying you and get some rest 🤗

@HelenaWaiting what a beautiful dog, look at that earnest little face 😍
@Toolatetochangemyname aaargh, the little pink nose and toe beans, too cute! We lost our last little cat last year but I used to love drifting off to sleep listening to him purring.

Right, I'm going to start my day now! Cup of tea first, then feed the dogs and then the birds - there's a lovely little robin that waits in my garden from about 7.30 onwards pip-pip-pipping away.

Hope everyone managed to get a bit of sleep eventually and that your days go well 🤗

I just jacked it in at 6am and started my day. Now paying for it by almost falling asleep before dinner.

At what point do you just cut your losses and wake up? 3am? 4am? 5am? I also don’t want to wake my Cavapoo up as she needs her sleep!

Ooh that flapjack was amazing!! 😋

thank you 🌷

No sleep I'm afraid, was just getting drifty about 5.20 when some twat decided to noisily get in thrift car then idle it beneath my bedroom window for 30 minutes (30 bloidy minutes!!) . He was on his phone. If I'd been clothed I'd have gone down there but I wasn't & im disabled now & have a bout of vertigo, so rushing (ha ha) about doing that would have done me no favours!

then I was wound up & wide awake so my day started! The only good thing was hearing the birds who have been very quiet since it gif very cold. It's like the warmer temperature defrosted tgem !!

anyway, going to save the rest of the thread for tomorrow & TRY to get some skeep

xx

best wishes all!!

Night owl. I just love the peace and quiet at night.

Touty · 16/01/2026 00:10

Has your sleep been any better?

I have been on holiday abroad for a week. No sleep issues. My job can be stressful.

Interestingly I slept better before the perimenopause- HRT has made a difference.
