Sorry, posting here for traffic.

Just before 10 this morning I wrung my ankle over going out the door. Hobbled for a few steps and then ok. Walked to and did my exercise class, walked backed. No problems. About half an hour ago it started throbbing any now I can't put it to the floor. Any ideas? Not swollen but it feels very hot.

Not a medical professional, but you've probably sprained it and then exacerbated the injury by walking on it and doing exercise on it

Sounds like you've twisted or sprained it. Put your ankle up n relax.

WandaW · 13/01/2026 15:07

Yeah a sprain. Elevate above level of your heart and ice it with frozen peas. Stay off it or use a walking stick.

If you drive and you need this foot to brake then consider if you are safe to drive or not.

Sometimes a ligament or muscle sprain can take a few days to really kick in

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't understand why it has been perfectly fine for several hours and is now so painful. It that normal a sprain? Never had one before.
