Ikea cancelled my order without letting me know?

Ordered a trolley which was due to arrive today. Got a text from DPD saying it was coming yesterday but it didn't arrive. Logged on today and saw that it says "Your order has been cancelled and you have received the refund". I didn't get an email or anything, and I certainly haven't received a refund!

Called Ikea and they said it could be DPD - are DPD even allowed to cancel an order? I thought they were just a delivery service?

It's probably been damaged in transit. There will likely be a follow up from Ikea once it's gone through the process.

IKEA are awful for home delivery.

We ordered bedroom furniture 4 weeks in advance for a day I booked off work and in time for the bedroom fitter.

We got 24 hr notice they cancelled the delivery, they offered us a new date a week later but I didn’t have the day off the bedroom fitter was booked elsewhere and we had to do a lot or rearranging.

Ikeas customer service couldn’t have cared less if he tried, he was so condescending claiming it’s all in the small print that they can do whatever they like and there’s nothing you can do about it.

I wouldn’t buy anything on delivery from them again, they absolutely do not care.

It was obvious the customer service have this phone call daily; he spoke with such apathy he obviously makes the statement on repeat.
