Vinted buyer asking for refund

choccustardcreams · 08/01/2026 10:50

I posted a parcel via Evri (luckily not experienced any problems with them before) on the 29th December. They tried to deliver it to the buyer on the 2nd and 3rd of Jan but couldn’t, not sure why. There hasn’t been any updates since the 3rd Jan and the tracking just says they will try to deliver it again on the next working day. The buyer has asked for a refund, but vinted said to wait until the 3rd of Feb to report an issue as the parcel might still turn up. Buyer isn’t very happy. What should I do?

Log it with Evri? I wouldn’t refund until either it’s declared lost or back in your hand, it’s annoying for the buyer but it’s not really your fault

Let vinted handle it. Ignore the buyer. The refund for a missing parcel is nothing to do with you.

She won't need to refund if it's missing. Seller won't lose out. Vinted issues the refund and presumably takes it up with the carriers.

Leave it up to Vinted and tell the buyer that's what you're doing. The buyer chooses the delivery method, so this is the risk they run of ordering things online.

You have to deal with everything through Vinted

They've said you have to leave it

So you do. And Buyer will get refunded on the 3rd Feb if it doesn't turn up

HoLeeFuk · 08/01/2026 11:04

Why do you need to do anything? Vinted is handling it.

Starrystarrysky · 08/01/2026 11:14

As others have said, wait for Vinted. To be fair to the buyer, I have a doorbell camera and have had Evri 'attempt delivery' multiple times without triggering the camera (aka they didn't). I suspect when they are short on time they fake it. But it does normally turn up eventually! And if not, Vinted will manage the refund, you shouldn't do anything.

Ignore the buyer or just politely tell them its in vinted hands now. Vinted will eventually refund them. This has happened to me before as both buyer and seller. Neither of you need to do anything as its a shipping issue. It takes ages but vinted will eventually refund the buyer if it never turns up.

Ignore buyer. I had two parcels “go missing” that I posted end of November. Vinted automatically resides the buyer and paid me once the time frame had passed and the buyer had clicked the ‘lost parcel’ butyl zzz it’s annoying but just one of those things. Don’t five it’s second thought
