Drivers in freezing weather

It’s going to be freezing overnight in most places in the UK and snow in a few places. I’m not looking forward driving to work on Monday. It’s due to these factors:

. People returning to work after a fortnight (the jammy so and sos - all my jobs I worked around Christmas and New Year) and some of them forgotten how to drive

. Drivers just scraping off a porthole of the windscreen. Then don’t remove the snow off their car roof. I have seen it where drivers had snow fall onto windscreen that the wipers can’t cope with the amount of snow. Leave your home 5 mins earlier than planned. Having a porthole scraped off is illegal.

From my experience the two factors will cause an increase in accidents.

I doubt people will have forgotten how to drive after 2 weeks, plus I assume they have been out and about in their cars.

YANBU about the snow scraping though.

The other thing that may happen in the quite extreme cold some areas are getting is that anyone who hasn’t got low enough temperature screenwash in their cars may find they get a window covered with salt and be unable to clean it and get a smeared almost opaque mess if they use their wipers and there’s no spray.
