Overindulged - I dont feel bad

I've seen so many posts on here, Facebook and Instagram, shaming people for overindulging over Christmas / New year. So many people saying posting pictures of food, fridges, drinks are insensitive to those less fortunate.
Well, in all honesty, I have completely indulged. I have eaten my weight in food and have been a pig since a week before Christmas due to eating out, grabbing her chocolates to go, food from xmas market stalls... do I regret any of it? Nope.

In a day or two, things will go back to normal and I'll rein it in. I have no shame and wont be shushed. Yes there are others less fortunate but thats life ain't it? Some have more, some have less. I wont be sorry for having a nice life or having nice things.

Im well aware things can change at any moment and maybe those less fortunate will have more than me one day. I do feel bad for kids who miss out but what should people like us do? Pretend to have a miserable time. Have every post/picture reviewed to not upset people?

So my question, did you overindulge? What was the best food / drink you had??

Mine was hotel chocolate espresso martinis and savoursmith crisps with dorrito salsa. Beautiful!!!

Yeah, no regrets here either youre supposed to pig out at xmas. I actually lost weight last Christmas due to being on mounjaro bd had zero appetite and I really felt like I'd missed out.

Whose chocolates were you “grabbing”, and why? Stealing food isn’t okay just because it’s been Christmas, and it really isn’t normal behaviour.

You can indulge yourself (I did too) without posting pics on social media showcasing all the food you've bought

LadyKenya · 01/01/2026 20:18

I ate as I normally do, not going overboard due to it being Christmas. Each to their own, it is a time of feasting traditionally.

SwanRivers · 01/01/2026 20:18

You do you and don't take any notice of anyone else.

I'm not sure why you'd let it get to you so much?

And you're not a pig, you're a human being.

I've overindulged. I haven't been to the gym, have hardly moved actually, and have eaten whatever I wanted to eat, and I feel precisely no guilt whatsoever. I'm looking forward to getting back to a normal routine when I get back to work next week but that's because I've allowed myself a proper break from it.

That meant to say grabbing hot, not her
Grabbing where I am just means "got". Ie I grabbed a pack of crisps. Doesn't mean I literally grabbed from anyone.

I have eaten just under 2kg of potatoes today. They were 15p and I forgot about them. We had a roast dinner today. DP and DD has about 5 roast potatoes between them and the rest are in my belly. I absolutely love potatoes so am very happy. And bloated.
