Hi,

DD who just turned two not long ago, has CMPA and despite numerous attempts of the milk ladder she’s had no luck with it.

When did your DC outgrow it and is there anything you did?

Thanks

Thank you. Do you keep exposing them to the state one despite the reaction? Is constant exposure damaging or will it help them learn to tolerate? The dietician at the hospital isn’t that helpful. She said to give her a grain of rice size for a few months to build tolerance as she couldn’t tolerate the corner

That's the opposite to all the advice I have been given by the paedetrician and read online. Dairy protein inflames their gut. You have to stop entirely and be extremely careful to avoid dairy for a minimum 3 months to let their gut heal.

Personally, I know you need to be a bit more creative with cooking if they can't have dairy but it's easier if you just accept it. Mine is almost 18 months and we're used to it. There are plenty of veggie milks out there now.

Main meals he has a combo of meat + veggies + carbs. Curries, bolognese, fish, they can have a lot of stuff really. Ignore Instagram toddler recipes as for some reason everyone on Instagram thinks toddlers live on cheese.

Nutrition wise they don't NEED milk, it's just a convenient source of calcium and an easy snack.
