Can anyone help. I’m looking for good books which fit the following criteria:

Female protagonist who doesn’t have kids and is ideally 40+ Happily childfeee, this doesn’t need to be mentioned in so many words but not someone who ‘settles down’ at the end of the book and has kids!

I love thrillers but any genre is okay, and any period.

Please help!

Thanks I’ve nabbed the penguin one, not a psychopath, and the theatre ones to be going on with.

Appreciate you all

Another vote for Moonflower Murders and Magpie Murders
Susan Ryland is a great character

Butter by Asako Yusuki - she is late 30's I think but the childless issue is touched upon. Mostly it's about society having different standards for men and women.
