"Honk if you like pizza"

Imagine you are driving along and you see another car with a bumper sticker saying "Honk if you like pizza".

Would you initial thought be (ie not what you think after reading the options)

a) they must love pizza and are light-heartedly suggesting other people express agreement- vote YABU

b) it's a joke along the lines "if you honk at me for bad driving I'll think it's because you like pizza"- vote YANBU

It would also be helpful to know if you are NT or ND. Thank you!

Neither - bumper stickers aren’t about communicating anything except the car owner’s desire to be understood as wacky.

There’s a parent at DC’s school who has a bumper sticker that says ‘honk if you let the soft animal of your body love what it loves’. They are wacky as fuck and want to be sure everyone knows it.

I learned from tiktok that the sticker is a sarcastic response to being beeped at for bad driving!

Pizza does make me honk so I don't eat it 🤢

I have autism and I would have said A and not related it to bad driving at all.

A) But essentially it's just a stupid wacky sticker. It's not really an invitation expecting people to actually honk. I'm NT.

My first thought would have been C: stupid, meaningless sticker (it wouldn't cross my mind that a driver would actually honk at another driver to show that they liked pizza and B wouldn't have occurred to me although that does make sense as an unfunny joke).

It's not. "Honk if you like...* bumper stickers gave been around for decades, with hundreds of different options for the 'like'. Claiming that there's deeper meaning to it is the same as all those that claim that there's a deeper meaning to "why did the chicken cross the road?". You may be able to come up with a deeper meaning now, but when created, there was nothing more to it than a stupid joke.

Although I would really think 'oh, a sticker about pizza' and not really pay any attention to the mention of honking.

For the B option, I think the joke would work better if it said 'beep if you like my driving'. Still not a particularly funny joke though. Just an idiot warning really.
