To be concerned about occipital lymph node

Never had an inflamed lymph node in this area before. It’s at the base of my hair in the occipital area. Really big and sore. I’m not poorly but have had a mouth ulcer that same side of my mouth that was unbearably sore but has now pretty much healed and this has only just come up today. Is that normal?

If you had an infection then, yes, maybe.

Not aware I had an infection! I had the biggest mouth ulcer where I bit my cheek that was unbearably sore so maybe it’s just that!

Look up lymph drainage massage. It's really gentle and something you can do to yourself. Also, cleavers tincture is really good for swollen lymph nodes.

I am not wanting to drain it more wondering if anyone had one and why?!

They swell when you have or have had an infection. It will be full of immune cells and germs. Sometimes they get clogged. If you're happy to keep it swollen, just leave it be and it should go down on its own.
