Xmas 2026 UK break suggestions

Hi all

Posting in here as seems to get the most traffic but can post somewhere else if I have to.

Xmas was pretty dire this year. Less than optimal marriage / home situation, combined with ill health of relatives and other various factors just meant it was endured rather than enjoyed (by me anyway, kids liked it). But ive decided I want to do something different next year.

Can anybody suggest a UK break i could take my kids (7 & 9) on for a few days from boxing day (i know i wont be allowed to take them anywhere on xmas day). Im in the south east so anywhere within a couple of hours drive would be great. Activities / entertainment would be nice. I did look at Center Parcs but it was getting on for £2k for a three night break!!!!!! So that is out. I dont mind paying up to £600ish, maybe a bit more if a really nice place.

Thank u!!! Determined to have a better xmas next year

Not with kids but the last few years I have holidayed to "Christmassy" type places with extended festive markets on til the 6th, I checked each year which markets are on and decide raking into account flight prices which can be quite cheap if flying at inconvenient times like late Christmas day.

Recent ones have been Prague, Krakow, Vienna, flights were cheap, and accommodation can be found at budget.

This year stayed in the UK, more for a dog beach holiday. Not sure if anything like that would be suitable for kids though

Manor & Ashbury resort is brilliant. Their breaks start on 27 December
