Are Christmas guests so ungrateful

So sad to read other netmums at the end of their tether with family coming for Christmas.
It’s so much hard work preparing for Christmas getting food ready and dealing with the lead up with dc.
If you’re invited for Christmas be bloody grateful, revere the host and offer help without butting in. Make the experience easier for them, eat what you’ve been given and be grateful for it. Have a nice time and if you’re lucky you’ll be invited next year
fyi it was just me and DH this year and it was lovely. Dpil are long gone and they were bother anyway.
dd in Thailand as it’s her 21st too

Yeah I used to get invited by in laws every year and then they’d make bloody everything with dairy in it and I’d have d and v for the next three days (dairy intolerant).

I’m not grateful for that. I was grateful when they stopped hosting and we could meet at a pub that understood allergies (because they put our nephew in hospital with an allergic reaction).

I can't eat what I'm given. Sorry.
We travelled half the country this year. Would have been easier and cheaper to host.
