Is this fat shaming?

I’m a proud mother of 5 and my third DC came home for Christmas. I was shocked and horrified when she (late thirties and my only daughter) came in the door that she had gained, at least, 1 stone!!! I tried to act calm and I didn’t mention anything for a while - but when I was making Christmas dinner and was plating it all up I decided to not give her mashed potatoes and pigs and blankets and instead replace them with extra veg (delicious veg mind you from Waitrose). She asked me why she had no mash or pigs and blankets and I just told her very gently that she needs to take care of her appearance and health. Apparently I was being ‘fat phobic’ but I don’t think that’s correct at all!!! Is it wrong to care about your daughter’s appearance and health all of a sudden???

If this is real you are an absolute disgrace.

MiddleAgedDread · 26/12/2025 17:31

FFS plating up Xmas dinner is not the way to go
about this!!

Whyarepeople · 26/12/2025 17:32

Please say you're not serious.

Grumblies · 26/12/2025 17:32

Surely this is not real. She's put on some weight and so your response is to think it's acceptable to make decisions about what food she can eat...she's 30 years old.

Crunched · 26/12/2025 17:32

Obviously a reverse - and yes, your DM is rude and judgmental.

Whydontyoujustfuckoff · 26/12/2025 17:33

This is a reverse

Velvetgoldmine · 26/12/2025 17:33

You did what now? She may be your daughter but you don't own her and have no business making decisions about what she does or does not eat. If I were her would have left then and there and spent time with people who did not judge me on my weight.

LadyXmas · 26/12/2025 17:33

Poor effort. Try harder.

ProfessorRedshoeblueshoe · 26/12/2025 17:33

Reverse

SilenceInside · 26/12/2025 17:33

This is most definitely not real. Give over.

Spirallingdownwards · 26/12/2025 17:33

Another goady and hopefully not true post.

CurlewKate · 26/12/2025 17:34

It’s a reverse or a windup. Either way, best ignored.

Poms · 26/12/2025 17:34

Reverse threads are so tedious. Many posters reply in good faith only to find out the OP has just wasted their time.

Blueberryme · 26/12/2025 17:34

Troll post - so fake, do better next time.

GeorgeClooneyshouldhavemarriedme · 26/12/2025 17:34

There's no way this is real.
The clue is is in the smug reference to Waitrose veg😂😂😂

Screamingabdabz · 26/12/2025 17:34

Her weight and appearance is none of your business. I’d have told you to shove your nice Waitrose veg and walked out. I’d rather be fat than a cunt.

Harrriet · 26/12/2025 17:34

Reverse. Was it your mother @TattieMcGee

SweeetFannyAdams · 26/12/2025 17:34

I know it's Boxing Day OP but surely you're not this bored?

Arlanymor · 26/12/2025 17:35

As Jennifer Aniston said about Brad Pitt: You're missing a sensitivity chip. What you did wasn't 'gentle' at all - it was rude, blatant and embarrassing. She's an adult in her thirties - I am sure she knows that she has put on weight without you having to point it out - on Christmas Day of all days.

Surely this must be a reverse? If not, then you are a festive fanny.

Mariiecat · 26/12/2025 17:35

I absolutely refuse to believe this is real.

I truely believe that if this is something you are capable of, any sane child would have cut you off years ago and absolutely wouldn't be visiting you at Christmas.

AhBiscuits · 26/12/2025 17:36

Nice rage baiting OP.

FieryA · 26/12/2025 17:37

You are awful

Starburst360 · 26/12/2025 17:37

That was horrible - if you’re worried about her talk to her, don’t do this. These covert messages are always going to be taken badly. At least, I know I’d be hurt if my mother or anyone else did this to me!

VillaDiodati · 26/12/2025 17:38

Pigs and blankets😂

BartholemewTheCat · 26/12/2025 17:38

There’s no way that this is real. Nobody could be that phenomenal a cunt.
