What would you do with 2k?

A gift. Not sure what to do for the best. Any ideas v v appreciated!

Is the expectation that you'll spend it and tell the giver what you bought? There's nothing I'd spend 2k on if I was allowed to use it as 'ordinary' income so living expenses/debt/savings.

If I had to spend it probably a long weekend in London with dh going to plenty of shows.

Pay most of my tax bill.
Not exactly joyous, but a weight off my mind.

2k really isn’t a lot to be asking what to do with it. Easily spent on a holiday/designer bag or shoes.

I never understand threads like this.

Is it random musings about how to spend the money.

Or is the situation real and the OP is asking MN to tell her how to use the money but has failed to include any vital information needed to know what is a good use of the money?

Eg it would be utterly stupid to spend it on a handbag or holiday if you're in debt and have no savings. But if you're mortgage free with plenty of savings then you could 'buy yourself something nice' but surely you'd just save the money until you've thought of something? It's not like it expires.

I am a saver, a handbag etc would hold no interest to me. So i would add it to my savings pot and watch it grow so i could spend it at a later day on something I really need/want.

Boring I know but i hate tatt and love financial security.

Id put it in the bank until something came along that I really wanted
